DUBAI, Oct 30 (Bernama) — Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak departed for home after a three-day working visit from this most populated city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Najib and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, left in a special aircraft from the Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International Airport here at about 10.50 am (2.50 pm Malaysian time, Thursday).
Present at the airport to send the premier off were Malaysian Ambassador to UAE Datuk Ahmad Anwar Adnan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary-General Datuk Othman Hashim, the Malaysian Consul-General in Dubai Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsudi and Malaysian officials.
Najib attended the 10th World Islamic Economic Forum and several important programmes beginning Oct 28.
The prime minister’s visit was at the invitation of Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President of the UAE and constitutional monarch of Dubai.
Themed, “Innovative Partnerships for Economic Growth”, the annual forum was held in Madinat Jumeirah here which ended Thursday.
WIEF was organised by the WIEF Foundation in collaboration with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The 10th WIEF aimed to forge greater collaboration between nations, bringing a new era of prosperity for the global economy.
The forum gathered a stellar line-up of nine leaders, 12 ministers, four central bank governors, 181 role-players and more than 2,700 delegates from more than 100 countries.
