According to Bernama, Umno took the seat with a majority of 2,625 votes – an additional of 889 votes to the majority it garnered at last year's general election.
Mat Razi Mat Ali (Umno) bagged 9,960 votes, Wan Rosdi Wan Ibrahim (PAS) 7,335 votes, and Izat Bukhary (Independent), 37 votes.
Polling at 11 polling centres, which went without incident, closed at 5pm today with a 72 percent voter turnout out of the 23,929 total registered voters for the constituency.
The turnout, as expected, is lower than the 80 percent turnout for the last general election.
