According to a spokesman of the Selangor Menteri Besar’s Office, the meeting which began at 10am, was attended by three PAS exco members – Iskandar Abdul Samad, Sallehen Mukhyi and Dr Halimah Ali.
“This is the last day that Tan Sri Khalid is menteri besar of Selangor. He chaired the exco meeting for the last time, attended by Iskandar, Sallehen and Halimah, except Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi,” he told Bernama here.
Earlier, Abdul Khalid who arrived at his office at the Selangor State Government Secretariat Building (SUK) about 9am, appeared cheerful and even gave the ‘thumbs-up’ sign to photographers who took snapshots of the outgoing menteri besar.
Bernama understands that Abdul Khalid cleared his room Sunday.
Meanwhile, Iskandar described Abdul Khalid as the best menteri besar Selangor has ever had.
“Selangor is very lucky because it had a menteri besar like (Abdul) Khalid for six years. I congratulate Tan Sri (Abdul) Khalid, who has done his job well,” said Iskandar, who is state assemblyman for Cempaka.
Sallehen also said he was thankful to Abdul Khalid for believing in him to carry out his responsibilities as exco member.
Abdul Khalid is scheduled to hold a press conference this afternoon, and Bernama understands that a farewell ceremony would also be held for him.
The swearing-in ceremony for the new Selangor menteri besar will be held at the Istana Alam Shah, Klang at 10am tomorrow.
