DUNGUN, Sept 19 (Bernama) — Ali Mamat, a retired editor of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), died at his home in Kampung Kubang Miang here today. He was 63.
Ali, who had been suffering from liver cancer, died at 1.56 am, said his eldest son, Maheran, 41.
Ali leaves behind two wives, Maimum Yahya, 55, and Aini Abdullah, 42, and seven children.
Maheran said Ali was admitted to the Dungun Hospital yesterday after he suffered breathing difficulties.
“My father had been critically ill since April and had been treated at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital,” he said.
He said Ali would be buried beside his mother’s grave at the Syed Yahya Muslim Cemetery before the Friday prayers.
