KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 3 (Bernama) — The father of Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman was laid to rest at the Kampung Seberang Takir Muslim cemetery at about 11.30am Wednesday.
The late Abdul Rahman Mohammad, 86, passed away at the menteri besar’s official residence, Seri Iman, at 6.15pm yesterday from lung complications.
Ahmad Razif and his brothers were seen going down into the grave to receive their father’s remains for burial. Terengganu Mufti Datuk Wan Zulkifli Wan Muda than read the talkin.
Earlier, the funeral prayer was held at Seri Iman where more than 2,000 people including local residents, friends of the family, state executive councillors and government officials came to pay their last respects.
Also present were the prime minister’s political secretary Datuk Jailani Ngah and state assembly speaker Datuk Zubir Embong.
The late Abdul Rahman leaves eight sons and a daughter.
