Business : Malaysian Leading Firms To Meet UK-Based Fund Managers At Invest Malaysia London

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 (Bernama) — Some 13 Malaysian leading companies will be meeting with UK-based fund managers at a two-day Invest Malaysia London, to share their sustainable growth stories, which have made Malaysia recognised as the Asean’s multinational marketplace.

In a joint statement Friday, Bursa Malaysia Bhd and Maybank Kim Eng Group said the event, beginning Sept 1, 2014, will showcase highly investable multinational companies listed on the local bourse.

Bursa Malaysia’s chief executive officer, Datuk Tajuddin Atan, said Malaysia and the UK had a long history and the connection was now stronger through cross-border economic linkages.

“We will have 13 exciting companies that are doing businesses not only in Asean but also in the UK and around the world,” he said.

Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Kim Eng Group, John Chong, said as the company has the global footprint, it could provide the platform to promote some of Malaysia’s best companies to global fund managers seeking investment opportunities in Malaysia.
