USIM Cultural Centre director Ismail Ahmed said the programme was being held with the cooperation of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP), Institute of Translation & Books Malaysia (ITBM), National Writers’ Association (PENA), Aman Palestine, Federation of Malaysian National Writers Associations (Gapena) and National Academy of Arts Culture and Heritage (Aswara).
“Among the objectives of the programme is to foster concern towards humanitarian issues, collect funds and help the Aman Palestine Fund to ease the suffering of Palestinians through culture and literature,” he told a news conference here Thursday.
The programme will include Maghrib prayers, special prayers, sermon on Gaza, poem declamation and singing of poetic songs by local activists such as Siso Kopratasa, Nash, Fauzi Marzuki, Khalid Salleh, Ahmad Shukri Abdullah, Haryani Haron and Shamsudin Othman.
He added that the programme will be documented on Facebook and You Tube, whereby each person who views the video can click ‘Like’ and make a donation to the Aman Palestine Fund by typing Palestin1/5/10 and send to 39111.
