Police have denied allegations that its personnel stood by when a mob attacked victims of a car accident at the Kota Klang roundabout on July 26.
“In the first place, there were no police officers at the scene. Police officers only came after they were called by the public there,” Klang Utara OCPD Mohamad Shukor Sulong told Malaysiakini.
He added that the victims, who allege that they were assaulted and robbed, were drunk at the time.
“We took action by even investigating the injured party. Currently we are investigating the matter further to determine who was right and who was wrong,” he said
