30sen for fishermen, but how much for gov't?
Johor DAP has called on the state government to reveal the total amount of money it is reaping from charging several developers for reclaiming land off the state's shores.
This comes after Johor Menteri Besar Mohamed Khaled Nordin announced that 30 cents would be charged for every square feet of land that is reclaimed in the Straits of Johor to help fishermen affected by the works.
"If this 30 cents is from a price of RM10 or RM15 per square feet or more, then 30 cents is too little and unreasonable," said Pengkalan Rinting assemblyperson Cheo Yee How and Johor DAP committee member Mahdzir Ibrahim in a joint statement yesterday.
