KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 (Bernama) — The Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry is confident of achieving its target of setting up 1,000 farmer’s markets in the country by the year 2020, the Dewan Negara was told Tuesday.
Its Deputy Minister Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said to date, there were 538 farmer’s markets operating throughout the country, and the target was not far off.
“The ministry has just received an additional allocation of RM34 million to form 17 more farmer’s markets throughout the country and I am confident the target can be achieved by 2020,” he said.
