According to Johor police chief Comm Datuk M. Kumar, the incident occurred around 12:10am on Thursday (July 3), when four masked men armed with machetes attacked a vehicle at the station. CCTV footage shows them smashing the car’s windows before one of the vehicle’s occupants fired several shots, forcing the suspects to flee. About 90 minutes later, a man with gunshot wounds was found dead at Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA), dropped off by two unidentified individuals. The deceased, a 42-year-old local man with a criminal record, died from gunshots to the chest and abdomen. Police believe he may be linked to the attempted robbery. Three suspects, aged between 30 and 40, were later arrested in Kuala Lumpur. Seized items included firearm components, ammunition, a getaway vehicle, and a firearm license belonging to one suspect, identified as a personal bodyguard.
