SOS animal rights NGO wants Penang Kini to apologise for Muslim touch a dog claim

Save our Strays (SOS) – a well-known local animal activist NGO – has lashed out at anonymous Facebook page Penang Kini for trying to tarnish a dog adoption drive held last Sunday at the Penang Times Square.

SOS founder April Sham said that the adoption drive had nothing to do with religion nor was it an event for Muslims to touch dogs as portrayed by the Facebook page.

She was referring to a post on Penang Kini today which said: ‘A programme for Muslims to touch dogs has spread to Penang. Where is Malik Kassim’.

The post also featured a photograph of a Malay woman wearing a tudung carrying a dog.
