PDRM Management Department Director Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said each of the police personnel received between RM500 and RM1,500, depending on their losses and upon evaluation by their respective officer in charge of the police district.
“A total of RM1 million of the fund was raised through January payroll deduction involving 120,000 PDRM officers, enforcement personnel and staff, while another RM500,000 was contributed by the PDRM Welfare Fund,” he said after launching the PDRM Post-Flood Cleaning Programme in Kampung Kerilla, Temangan here today.
Also present were Bukit Aman Management Department deputy director (Training) Datuk Shabudin Abdul Wahab and Kelantan police chief Datuk Mazlan Lazim.
Mohamad Fuzi said the fund had been distributed to the affected PDRM officers and staff affected by the floods in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Perak in stages since last week.
“The fund would also be channeled to police personnel affected by the floods in Sabah and Sarawak. However, we have yet to receive any report on the victims in the two states,” he said.
On police station damaged by floods in Kelantan, Mohamad Fuzi said the repair and restoration works were being carried out and would not affect the overall operation of the security force.
“We have allocated RM15.3 million to the Kelantan police contingent headquarters to enable the repair and restoration works to be completed immediately,” he added.
