General : ATM Deny Sending Directive For People In Pekan To Evacuate Due To Floods

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 29 (Bernama) — The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) today denied claims that the ATM had through a ‘Whatsapp’ message directed people in Pekan, Pahang to evacuate due to floods.

The ATM in a statement issued today said people were concerned and worried by the ‘Whatsapp’ message from irresponsible sources.

“The ATM would like to stress that no directive was issued by ATM. If there was such a message, it is not true. The ATM is always ready with personnel and assets to help those affected by floods.

“We would like to advise everyone to not cause panic among the people by sending out false information. Floods is a major concern and the ATM will do everything possible to help those affected,” said ATM in the statement.
