Business : Sales Of RM65 Million Expected From Malaysian Pharmaceutical Companies At Paris Trade Fair

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) — Malaysian pharmaceutical companies are expected to generate sales of RM65 million at the upcoming CPhi Worldwide 2014 in Paris, France.

This, according to the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), is an increase of nearly 10 per cent compared to last year.

In a statement, the national trade promotion agency said participation in the event, is an effort to strengthen Malaysia’s export of pharmaceuticals to Europe.

Nine local companies will participate in the CPhi Worldwide 2014 which starts Tuesday.

CCM Pharmaceuticals Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian exhibitor, said it has target to meet potential customers/partners, strengthen business relationships as well as showcase products and services, while enhancing its brand on a global scale.

Another participant, Kotra Pharma (M) Sdn Bhd aims to strengthen its international presence and explore new opportunities.

“The ideal outcome for us is to secure a long-term partnership with the business sector in developed countries.

“Securing these partnerships will be our main focus at this year’s event,” said General Manager, Cheah Min Loong.

Meanwhile, Natural Wellness Industries Sdn Bhd said is plans to create brand awareness of products and get new ideas on improvements to the products line, besides helping understand the global market needs.

CPhI Worldwide 2014 is the largest trade fair for pharmaceuticals in the world, covering all main pharmaceutical product categories.

It includes active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), generic APIs, custom manufacturing, intermediates, fine chemicals, excipients/formulation, finished dosage, biopharmaceuticals, general pharmaceuticals products and natural extracts.
