General : MAS Gives Briefing To MH17 Victims’ Families

PUTRAJAYA, July 18 (Bernama) — Several next-of-kin of victims of the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH17 tragedy began arriving at a hotel here since 6.30 am today to attend a briefing by MAS representatives on the latest development on the crash.

Some among them could not hold back their emotions and cried while others were seen to remain calm.

However efforts by the media to get their reaction on the incident proved futile.

Also seen were several volunteers from non governmental organisations that were providing assistance.

The MAS flight, MH17, was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it went down in Ukraine. It was carrying 298 people – 283 passengers and 15 crew.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said early today that Ukrainian authorities believe that the Boeing 777 was shot down.
