Speaking at the wing’s annual assembly today, its chief Ermieyati Samsudin said these leaders were fearful that support would erode if they are too vocal in championing Islam.
According to Umno Online, she added that these politicians remain silent despite knowing that religious extremists are constantly stoking tension.
"The liberalisation of religion which endorses the likes of lesbian, gay, bisexuality and transgender clearly violates the Muslim faith."
