The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged Malaysians to avoid public gatherings in Hong Kong, as pro-democracy protests on the island continue.
It noted that thus far no Malaysians have been reported injured or arrested in the protests.
“The ministry is advising all Malaysians in Hong Kong to be extra vigilant and take all precautions for their safety by avoiding the various sites of assembly and large public gatherings,” it said in a statement today.
It also urged Malaysians in Hong Kong or those travelling there in inform the Consulate General of Malaysia of their presence.
