KANGAR, Oct 24 (Bernama) — The School of Manufacturing Racing Team (SMaRT) of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) has emerged champions in the 250cc category of the 2014 Educational Innovation of Motorsports & Automotive Race (EIMARace) at Dato Sagor Circuit, Perak.
The team managed by Manufacturing Engineering Centre lecturer Radhwan Hussin and Jamali Md Sah also took the third overall placing and brought home a trophy and RM5,400 in cash.
The competition held for the first time was organised by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
The UniMAP team set up a year ago, succeeded in completing 19 rounds held in the morning and afternoon sessions.
According to Radhwan, SMaRT also obtained technical cooperation from DreamEdge Sdn Bhd and Honda Racing in producing the 250cc machine for the championships.
