General : Temporary Service Counters Set Up At Police Beats, Headquarters Affected By Floods

PEKAN, Jan 14 (Bernama) — The Pahang police have set up temporary service counters at various police beats and district police headquarters affected by floods in Pahang.

The police beats involved are those in Padang Rumbia, Pekan; Durian Tawar, Bera; Seberang Chenor, Maran; Tebing Tinggi and Jerantut Feri in Jerantut, while the Merapoh police headquarters in Kuala Lipis was also affected.

Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Sharifuddin Ab Ghani said the counters were located near the affected police beats to make it easier for the public to lodge reports.

“The police beats and police headquarters are unable to operate as they are covered in silt and most of the equipment and furniture were damaged.

“However, a report has been sent to Bukit Aman to identify the value of damaged property while damaged furniture is also being repaired,” he told reporters after a gotong-royong organised by the Pahang Contingent Police Headquarters here today.

At the programme, 180 policemen worked together to clean up 52 hardcore poor housing project (PPRT) homes and the Padang Rumbia police beat.
