General : Muhyiddin Attends ‘Solat Hajat’ Prayers For Flood Victims

KUANTAN, Dec 26 (Bernama) — Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today attended ‘solat hajat’ prayers along with 1,000 worshippers at a mosque here to seek God’s compassion to ease the severity of the floods ravaging the country.

The ‘solat hajat’ prayers, led by Imam Mohd Anuar Khazizi, were held after the Friday prayers at the Al Makmur Mosque, Batu 10 Camp, here.

Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar also attended the prayers.

Pahang Mufti Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Rahman Osman, in a statement to Bernama yesterday, advised all mosques in the state to hold the ‘solat hajat’ prayers after the Friday prayers today.

After attending the prayers, Muhyiddin went to Wisma Negeri for a briefing on the flood situation in Pahang. As at 3 pm, 35,736 people had been evacuated in the state due to the floods.
