General : Education Ministry Launches Continuous Professionalism Development Plan

MELAKA, Dec 16 (Bernama) — The Education Ministry, Tuesday launched a continuous professionalism development plan (PPPB) aimed at raising the quality of school teachers and leaders to empower the teaching profession in the country.

Education director-general Datuk Seri Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof said PPPB played an important role in developing the desired attributes and competencies to enable school teachers and leaders deliver continuous excellent service.

“In every level of school teachers and leaders, there should be suitable attributes and competencies in accordance with their roles.

“However the improvement in school student-teacher and leader productivity should not be at the expense of neglecting noble values to produce a younger generation of high moral,” he said when speaking at the launch of PPPB in Ayer Keroh in Melaka.

The text of his speech was read by Institut Aminuddin Baki director Datuk Khairil Awang.

More than 100 state education directors and officers from all over the country attended the one-day briefing on implemention of the plan.
