General : Civil Servants Likely To Be Happy With 2015 Budget – Ali Hamsa

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 (Bernama) — Civil servants are likely to be happy with the 2015 Budget, said Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.

However he said the improvement that would be undertaken was within the government’s ability.

“What is important is that we need to take action to reduce the government deficit as has been targeted every year until 2020,” he said when met by reporters after officiating the 2014 National Digital Conference (NDC) here today.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who is also Finance Minister, will table the 2015 Budget in Parliament tomorrow.

On 2014 NDC, Ali said it was a platform to improve the existing technological initiative besides looking at information and communication technology (ICT) that could be adapted in empowering the public service delivery.

He said the current human resource and technological usage were seen as having the ability to enhance the quality of public service delivery.

The two elements were among the approaches that could be used to ensure the delivery of the public service sector was being improved every year.

Themed ‘#InnovateMyGov’, the fifth conference since 2009 is to give focus on ongoing innovation towards effective government service delivery through information sharing and smart collaboration between public and private agencies.
