A student at the Perlis campus of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) was charged in the Sessions Court in Sepang today with attempting to give support to the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.
Wan Mohammad Arif Wan Rokman, 23, a marine engineering student, was alleged to have committed the offence at Gate C15 of the departure hall of the KL International Airport at 10.15pm on Dec 28.
He was to have taken a Turkish Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul with the intention of becoming a member of IS.
