The group, known as ‘Transmission’ of the Perak Farmers Organisation Board took the award under the technical category by innovating an equipment to assist the movement of tractor called ‘Trans Cage Wheel’.
The award comprises RM10,000 in cash, revolving trophy and a winner’s trophy, as well as certificate presented by Public Service Director-General Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal.
Head of Transmission group, Mohd Azhar Shoheme said the Trans Cage Wheel helped to prevent tractor wheels getting stuck in soggy padi fields and expedite ploughing.
“The Trans Cage Wheel innovation began last year and it is now used by padi farmers in Bagan Serai, Perak,” he said, adding that the Transmission group comprised 10 individuals and a facilitator.
