Former finance minister Daim Zainuddin has denied that non-bumiputera are marginalised and blamed politicians for sensationalising the issue.

He warned that these politicians could rip apart ethnic ties in the nation.

In an exclusive interview with China Press published today, the Umno veteran was responding to a question regarding the government coming out with many pro-bumiputera policies after the 13th general election.

Disagreeing, Daim said the government had abolished the quota system with regard to awarding education scholarships and hiring civil servants.
