Activists terming themselves “Borneo nationalists” are petitioning the United Nations to review the legality of the British’s move to transfer Sabah and Sarawak to Malaya in 1963.

This is part of an ongoing movement to question the Malaysia Plan and to consider secession of Sabah and Sarawak, which the activists argue have suffered after Malaysia was formed.

Sarawak Association of Peoples’ Aspriration (Sapa) said that UN petition, signed by 200 from Brunei, Sabah and Sarawak in Miri on Aug 9, is the petition is a precursor to a legal suit against the British government.
